Parwana is a favourite of my family. It’s so small but we always seem to be able to find a table! The prices are reasonable but definintely not my usual cheap and cheerful eatery, with smaller sized portions!
The Banjan Biryani, or eggplant with a tomato cumin sauce topped with yoghurt, is one of my favourite dishes. It’s tender and tasty.
I always get the mantu dumplings, stuffed with soft and sweet carrots and onions, topped with a lamb sauce and more yoghurt.
The lamb kebab is great and filling, but they used to serve them on rods – it’s now a bit more of a calm affair with small skewers.
For dessert you can’t go past the falooda, with rose flavoured syrup, basil seeds and icecream… yum!
The downside is they only accept cash… be warned!
