Kingsley’s Australian Steakhouse. Hiding in an alleyway off of King St, it’s a charming two level building. The extensive menu is dedicated to beef, from all walks of life. There are some scrumptious share plates and entrees to start with. We got the chorizo, which was fantastic.
I ordered the fillet steak, rare, with a side of chips and béarnaise sauce. This was a winning combination. The fillet was tender and perfectly cooked, the béarnaise sauce complemented the meat well, and the chips were lovely and crisp. My partner’s steak, in comparison, was nowhere near as exciting – slightly overcooked, and less exciting. I like going for quality over quantity – you get less, but it’s more enjoyable!
I’d highly recommend Kingsley’s for dinner, if you’re into steak.
